( 06 ) Grammaire

📖 Grammar

I traveled to Accra last year.

J’ai voyagé à Accra l’année dernière.

We stayed in a hotel for five days.

Nous sommes restés à l’hôtel pendant cinq jours.

Where did you go?

Où es-tu allé ?

I didn't travel by plane.

Je n’ai pas voyagé en avion.

2. Present Perfect — une expérience sans date précise

have / has + participe passé.

I have visited Ghana.

J’ai visité le Ghana. (expérience, sans date)

She has been to Nigeria.

Elle est déjà allée au Nigeria.

Have you ever traveled abroad?

As-tu déjà voyagé à l’étranger ?

I've never traveled by train.

Je n’ai jamais voyagé en train.

3. Future — going to / will

« going to » pour un projet déjà décidé ; « will » pour une prédiction ou une décision prise sur le moment.

I'm going to travel next month.

Je vais voyager le mois prochain. (projet décidé)

I think I'll visit Senegal next year.

4. Comparatives — comparer deux façons de voyager

Adjectif court + -er + than (faster than) ; adjectif long : more + adjectif + than (more expensive than).

Traveling by plane is faster than traveling by bus.

A hotel is usually more expensive than a hostel.

I prefer traveling by train because it is more comfortable.

📖 My First Trip Abroad

Last year, I decided to take my first trip outside my country. I traveled to Ghana with two friends. Before the trip, we booked our flights and hotel online.

When we arrived in Accra, we took a taxi to our hotel. During the week, we visited several tourist attractions, tried local food and met many friendly people.

One day, we decided to take a trip outside the city. Unfortunately, our car broke down on the way. We had to wait for almost two hours before we could continue our journey.

Despite this problem, it was a wonderful experience. I learned a lot and I would definitely like to travel abroad again.
