Deuxième conditionnel : if + prétérit (were), would + base verbale — situation hypothétique.

Troisième conditionnel : if + past perfect, would have + participe passé — passé irréel.
If we had invested earlier, we would be in a stronger position now.
Conditionnel mixte : cause passée (had invested) et conséquence présente (would be).

📖 Communicating Effectively in a Complex World
Modern professional life requires people to communicate with colleagues, customers, managers and partners from different backgrounds.
Effective communication involves more than vocabulary and grammar. A person may speak English accurately but still experience communication problems if they fail to understand the expectations or perspective of another person.
In complex situations, successful communicators listen before responding. They ask relevant questions and avoid making assumptions. They also understand that disagreement does not necessarily mean conflict.
In negotiations, for example, the ability to identify common interests can help people reach agreements even when their initial positions are different.
Similarly, in problem-solving situations, teams need to distinguish between facts, assumptions and interpretations.
Ultimately, advanced communication is the ability to use language strategically according to the situation, the people involved and the desired outcome.
1. What does effective communication involve beyond vocabulary and grammar?
2. What do successful communicators do in complex situations?
3. What do they understand about disagreement?
4. What helps people reach agreements in negotiations?
5. What must teams distinguish in problem-solving situations?
